CCC by UTMB - Crazy or Stupid?
Some six months ago I crazily decided to enter a lottery to see if I could gain a place in what has been described as the World Championships of trail running - Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc or UTMB for short. Athletes sometimes wait years to get their name drawn out so I thought that I had little or no chance of securing a spot. It must have been my lucky day! I got in.
After some, "oh shit" moments and with the support of my wonderful family I have steadily increased my training over the last few months and am in the final stages of my preparation to take on my first 100km race.
For those of you that know our family, you'll know that Bear Cottage has a special place in our hearts and provides support and care for families and children with life limiting conditions.
So, on 1 September, I will not only be seeking to push my physical limits but also to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
It would mean a lot to me and my family if you are able to make a contribution to my fundrasing page and help me hit my fundrasing target.
