At Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF), we believe in the power of people coming together to create lasting change for sick kids. That’s why we’re thrilled to officially welcome sports presenter and storyteller Tara Rushton as an ambassador.

With a career spent covering some of the biggest sporting events in the world, from the Matildas and Socceroos to Formula 1, MotoGP and the Olympics, Tara is known not only for her professionalism and poise, but for her ability to connect people through powerful storytelling. It’s a gift she now brings to her role at SCHF, helping to amplify the voices of our most courageous kids.

For years, Tara has generously given her time and energy to support our cause as a beloved committee member of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation Gold Dinner, Australia’s most prestigious charity gala and as an MC of the event itself.

Now, as an official ambassador, Tara is helping us raise vital funds needed to change the future for sick kids.

“Becoming an ambassador for Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation means so much to me,” says Tara. “I’ve seen first-hand how powerful hope, community and care can be and that’s exactly what SCHF brings to sick kids and their families every single day.”

When asked what drew her to becoming an ambassador, Tara’s answer is simple but powerful.

“Kids are our future. If I can do anything to amplify their stories or bring them to life so we can raise awareness and help give them the best and brightest future during the toughest time of their lives, I'll do it. It's such a powerful cause and one close to my heart.”

Tara reminds us that even the smallest gesture can bring hope to families going through unimaginably difficult days.

“Just think about the difference you can make to put a smile on a child's face that’s having a really hard day,” Tara says. “They are the heroes, the ones missing out on life’s little moments like playing football or watching a game because they’re going through treatment in hospital. Something small really can make a big difference.”

Tara’s authenticity, empathy and drive embody the spirit of our movement, and we are honoured to have her standing beside us.

To those considering getting involved, Tara offers heartfelt encouragement: “Don’t think twice. You can make a difference.”

Whether you’re donating, fundraising, volunteering or sharing a story, your support helps provide world-class care, groundbreaking research and brighter futures for sick kids.

We’re so proud to welcome Tara Rushton as an official ambassador of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, and we can’t wait to see the impact we’ll make together.

Join Tara and help change the future for sick kids.
