Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation is proud to announce that - thanks to the amazing generosity of donors in our Movement of Many the Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation Christmas Appeal raised an extraordinary $12.3 million, exceeding a target of $10 million and beating the $11 million record set in 2022.

Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation CEO, Kristina Keneally, said the positive response to the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation Christmas Appeal provides much-needed hope for families and sick kids over the holiday season.

“The record-breaking amount we raised in 2022 gave much-needed help for sick children, and I am so proud to see the generosity of Sydneysiders on full display once more.”

“We know families and businesses are doing it tough with the current cost-of-living pressures, which makes us even more grateful to our Movement of Many for continuing to go all in for kids’ health this year.”

This Christmas the City of Sydney chose Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation to be the charity partner of Sydney Christmas. Along with celebrating the start of the festive season in Martin Place as the largest Christmas tree in NSW was lit up, SCHF joined  eight Christmas Concerts,  providing an opportunity  for thousands of families to learn more about the work SCHF does to support children receiving treatment and care in the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, especially at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick and The Children’s Hospital, Westmead.

SCHF also held our first-ever Giving Day during the Christmas Appeal and the community responded strongly. We are so grateful for the incredible support for Giving Day from our matched giving partner, DOOLEYS Clubs and supporters from our Movement of Many. Giving Day was also supported by our charity partners, Sydney Markets and Krispy Kreme, who provided kids and their families in hospital with an array of fresh seasonal fruit, and delicious donuts. SCHF brand partners, Sydney Swans and Western Sydney Wanderers also entertained kids across Sydney Children's Hospitals Network. Read more about the Giving Day activities.

Our Christmas Appeal has been supported by the incredible patients and families who let us share their stories. Learn more about brothers Koby and Cooper, who both needed NETS care after being born, or James, who thanks to advances in diagnostic research at Kids Research, went from being paralysed and blind to being healthy and active here.

Our Movement of Many’s support for the Christmas Appeal has extended across the city, with hundreds of families decorating their homes with amazing displays for Lights for Kids. We thank our generous luminary committee, who are lighting up Sydney to help give sick kids the brightest Christmas possible.
