For one very special day, areas across Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead were filled with extra laughter, creativity, and moments of joy, as patients, families, staff, and supporters came together for Sydney Sick Kids Day 2026.

Held on Wednesday 3 June as the highlight of this year’s Sydney Sick Kids Appeal, the day was a celebration of the power of community - and the incredible difference supporters can make for children spending time in hospital.

Across both children’s hospitals, patients took part in a range of special experiences designed to bring fun, comfort, and distraction during their hospital stay. At The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, children enjoyed visits from some furry friends thanks to Alpaca Kisses and Little Hooves Pet Farm, interactive fun with Kidz Fix characters Bluey and Bingo, facepainting, and hands-on cookie decorating activities.  

Patients also spent time in specially created Reading and Toy Zones, generously supported by Big W and Dashing.

At Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, patients were thrilled by a visit from Batmobile Australia, performances from Stardust Kids characters Elsa and Spiderman, special moments with Adorable Party Ponies, and visits from players representing the Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs, who helped bring smiles to patients and families throughout the day.

Fire and Rescue NSW also visited both Randwick and Westmead throughout the day, bringing plenty of excitement and memorable moments for patients and families across the hospitals.

These experiences are only possible thanks to the generosity of our incredible gift-in-kind partners, volunteers, and supporters, who helped transform ordinary hospital spaces into places of fun, imagination and connection.
