Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) is proud to announce the launch of its Patient Family Accommodation Program, providing free accommodation for eligible families whose children are receiving care through the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.

Located at Scape by the Living Company's new Lachlan Building in Kensington, close to Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, the program offers 42 self-contained apartments designed to help families stay together while their child receives specialist medical care.

For many families, accessing treatment can mean travelling long distances from regional, rural and remote communities. While their child receives care, parents and carers are often faced with the added challenge of finding somewhere affordable and suitable to stay nearby.

The Patient Family Accommodation Program has been created to help remove that burden.

A home away from home

The program provides families with access to comfortable, purpose-built accommodation close to the hospital, allowing them to focus on supporting their child rather than worrying about travel, accommodation costs, or lengthy commutes.

Eligible families may have access to:

  • Private, fully furnished apartments

  • Fully equipped kitchens and comfortable living spaces

  • Private bathrooms and laundry facilities

  • Accessible accommodation options

  • A safe and welcoming environment close to care

By reducing practical and financial pressures, the program helps families remain together during treatment, recovery and rehabilitation.

This program has been made possible thanks to the generosity of donors, partners and supporters who share a commitment to supporting sick kids and their families.

Their support has helped create a place where families can find comfort, stability and connection during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

To everyone who has helped bring this program to life, thank you.
