Turn Your Halloween Decorations into a Fundraiser for Sick Kids

For some kids, childhood is far from what it should be.

Instead of playdates, there are appointments. Instead of sleepovers, there are hospital stays. And while most children will be out trick-or-treating this Halloween, many will be spending the night in hospital.

But together, we can change the future for sick kids - funding the breakthroughs, the care, and the support that gives every child the chance to experience the childhood they deserve.

How to Turn Your Halloween Display into a Fundraiser

If youre already planning to deck out your house with cobwebs, glowing pumpkins and haunted displays, why not take it one step further?

By registering your decorated home as a fundraiser for Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF), you’ll join our community of unstoppable changemakers - people who believe no kid should miss out on the joy of childhood.

Get started with your Halloween Fundraiser for Sick Kids

  1. Create your fundraising page
  2. Spread the word: Invite friends, family and neighbours to support sick kids while enjoying your Halloween display
  3. Collect donations: Whether it’s a gold coin at the gate, a QR code for digital giving, or sharing your page online, every dollar raised goes directly to the front line of kids’ healthcare

Spooky and Simple DIY Halloween Ideas

Spooky Photo Spot
Set up a themed corner where families can snap photos in exchange for a donation.

Pumpkin Lanterns (No Carve!)
Skip the mess and paint pumpkins with glow-in-the-dark paint, add stickers, or wrap them in bandages for a fun “mummy pumpkin.”

Spooky Window Silhouettes
Use black cardboard to cut out haunted house shapes, ghosts, or cats. Stick them to your windows for a dramatic nighttime effect.

DIY Trick-or-Treat Bags
Personalise plain tote bags with fabric markers, stencils, and glitter for kids to collect their treats.

Make a Difference this Halloween
By turning your decorations into a Halloween fundraiser, you’ll spread joy in your community while helping sick kids in hospital get the care and support they deserve.
