Ricky Richards founders presenting Cheque for $30,000 to SCHF's GM Philanthropy Colin Allen
Many years ago, Ron and his partners (brother Norman and father Eric), founders of Ricky Richards, initiated a unique holiday tradition. Instead of sending traditional Christmas cards to customers, they directed their money towards a charitable donation to the ICU at the Sydney Children’s Hospital. At that time, Ron’s wife was a doctor working in the Emergency Department. As the business grew, they managed to increase their donation each year.

Ricky Richards’ generosity did not stop there – on one day of the year, a percentage of sales from Ricky Richards contribute to their ongoing donations. This collective effort reflects Ricky's commitment to community service, engaging both staff and customers. Beyond financial aid, their community involvement extends to inspiring customers to donate to help sick kids. It's a testament to Ricky's values, utilising the business to benefit those who are vulnerable.

Throughout the years, the donations have assisted in the purchase of much-needed equipment and, in one particular case, the building of accommodation for parents of children who have had to have long-term stays in the hospital. This heartfelt synergy between Ricky, its customers, and the SCHF exemplifies our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
