As we reflect on the past financial year at Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF), we’re proud to celebrate an extraordinary milestone in our mission to support children with cancer.

Kids with Cancer Foundation (KWCF) has now contributed more than $30 million in lifetime giving — including both direct donations and pledged support to SCHF. This remarkable achievement has been made possible by decades of care, generosity and commitment from KWCF's supporters and a shared belief in a brighter future for children with cancer.

Their unwavering support reached new heights in 2024, with a record $10.5 million donation announced at our Gold Dinner — the largest single gift in their history.

Supporting the future of children’s cancer care

KWCF's pledge of $10 million over eight years will help bring to life the new Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. This purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility will integrate diagnosis, treatment, research, and education — all within a space designed to support the unique needs of children and their families. The centre will feature private rooms and dedicated spaces to support wellbeing, creating a more holistic experience for children and their families.

In addition, KWCF committed $500,000 over five years to support the creation of dedicated family spaces within the Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. These thoughtfully designed areas will offer comfort and respite to families during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

Together, these investments mark a powerful step forward in paediatric oncology care across New South Wales.

A legacy that keeps growing

As of the past financial year, KWCF’s support includes $20.7 million in direct donations to SCHF and an additional $10.5 million in pledged funding for redevelopment projects, paediatric cancer research, and essential clinical roles.

Their total lifetime investment of over $30 million represents one of the most significant philanthropic commitments to childhood cancer care in NSW.

From their first gift to today, KWCF has been a driving force behind improved outcomes for children with cancer — supporting critical projects and services at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, and Bear Cottage.

Their support has directly contributed to improve outcomes for children with cancer and their families — and continues to shape a future where every child has access to world-class treatment and care.
