Curing Homesickness Ltd Turns 3!

We believe that children belong at home, and not in hospital. After learning that 50% of children in hospital suffer homesickness that impacts their wellbeing and recovery, Curing Homesickness Ltd was launched in July 2019 with the aim to get kids home from hospital sooner. 

Over the last three years, thanks to the generosity of the community and corporate partners, many truly life-changing projects and experiences have been funded that have given children who would otherwise be in hospital, more time at home. During this time, Curing Homesickness Ltd has work to fund:

  • 1,254 hours of Oncology Child Life Therapy impacting 1,301 children in the first year. 
  • HomeFREE: a research project which aims to expand a successful pilot which allows kids on antibiotics to take these at home rather than through IV in hospital.
  • VirtualKids: Which gives kids access to specialist appointments through a virtual hospital.
