National Children's Week

SCHF Art Program

Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation Art Program engaged with children in hospital for National Children's Week. Artist Educators and SCHF Volunteers engaged with patients, siblings and visitors across both Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, and The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

The children were asked to create a collage prompted by three questions:

What helps you relax?
What activities do you enjoy the most?
What helps you play?

About the Artist

National Children's Week raises community awareness of the needs, rights and achievements of children and youth through promotion of National Children's Week, held in the 4th week of October every year. This year's theme comes from the UNCRC Article 31 “Children have the right to relax, play, and take part in creative activities.”

The Art Program delivers arts workshops direct to the patient bedside in individual and group workshops, designed to help kids express themselves in multiple creative mediums and help cope with the hospital experience.

For sales, please contact the Art Program: 1800 244 537 or art@schf.org.au
A portion of each sale contributes to the fundraising efforts of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.
