Making a difference with Officeworks

30 Nov 1999

"Our Make a Difference Appeal gives our team members the opportunity to champion local causes and charities that are important to them and their community."

SCHF is deeply grateful to the team at Officeworks for their generous support during their Make a Difference Appeal, with a total of $93,424 raised for Bear Cottage throughout June.

Bear Cottage is the only children's hospice in NSW, providing respite and end-of-life care to children and families with life-limiting conditions.

As part of the campaign, 50 care packages were kindly donated to Bear Cottage staff to celebrate International Nurse's Day.

Nine enthusiastic Officeworks employees took part in a special volunteer day, where they helped the team prepare for Remembrance Day.

During a delicious morning tea, senior Officeworks employees learned about Bear Coattge's nursing staff and their roles. They were joined by one of the Bear Cottage dads, who spoke about the recent Dad's Camp and the benefits that his family received from their visits.

To support the campaign and thank Officeworks staff for their support, staff and volunteers from SCHF and Bear Cottage visited all 14 participating Officeworks stores throughout Sydney, including Alexandria, Dee Why, Lewisham, Pitt St CBD, Berry St North Sydney, Glebe, Mona Vale, West Ryde, Bondi, Hornsby, Mosman, Chatswood, Hunter St CBD, and North Ryde. Some stores were even lucky enough to have Beau the Bear Cottage dog visit them!

To wrap up their campaign, Officeworks staff dressed up as superheroes for Suphero Funday in support of Bear Cottage's Superhero Week.

Thanks to the support of the community and organisations like Officeworks, Bear Cottage can continue caring for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

All in with Officeworks for kids' health
