Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation is excited to welcome Sydney Swans defender, Lara Hausegger, as our newest ambassador for kids' health. Lara isn’t just a star on the field - she’s deeply committed to making a difference off it, especially when it comes to supporting kids and families facing serious illness and injury.

Lara Hausegger, ambassador

Lara spared time in between training to visit families at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. Meeting patients, posing for photos and signing merchandise on the wards – she passed on smiles and cheer when it was needed most.

Joined by teammates Amelia Martin and Sarah Steele Park the group were deeply moved by the strength and resilience of the kids. Now, they’re taking that inspiration with them back onto the field.

Lara says “It was a such an honour to meet families and see how philanthropy is changing the lives of sick kids. Knowing we can use our platform for good, inspire people to get involved with SCHF and make a difference in our community is an honour.’’

Growing up, Lara experienced first-hand how a devastating diagnosis can shake an entire family. When she was four years old, her mum was diagnosed with cancer. She understands how illness doesn’t just affect the patient but also impacts the entire family unit.

With this lived experience, Lara is stepping into her new ambassador role ready to raise awareness, advocate for SCHF, and help change the future for sick kids. Lara’s genuine passion and commitment make her an invaluable addition to our mission. We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome her to our team.

Join Lara and change the future for sick kids.
