MILK BARS, MATES, & MISCHIEF

Cameron Forsyth

Cameron Forsyth is a self-taught artist based on the Central Coast of NSW. His work taps into the nostalgia of growing up in 1980s Sydney—drawing from Saturday morning cartoons, cereal boxes, sneakers, and all the bright, quirky details that defined childhood. He reimagines these elements in bold, colourful paintings that are playful on the surface but often carry a layer of irony underneath.

Before focusing on art full-time, Cam spent over 20 years working in radio as a sound engineer, which shaped his keen sense of how media influences perception. That experience comes through in his work, with clear nods to pop culture, advertising, and the strange ways we connect emotionally to everyday visuals.

Cam works mostly with acrylics on canvas, building vibrant, layered pieces with clean lines and graphic impact. His paintings are designed to be fun and eye-catching, while also prompting a second look—why does this image feel so familiar? What does it say about the time and culture we come from?

He has collectors across Australia, the UK, Europe, and North America, and has exhibited at The Other Art Fair (Sydney/Melbourne) and the Affordable Art Fair in Sydney/Melbourne/New York. He is represented by Art to Art Gallery (Melbourne) and Treat Gallery (New York).

At its core, Cam’s practice explores memory—how we hold it, how it’s repackaged, and how it shapes our identity today.
