Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) is thrilled to welcome acclaimed Australian actor, director, and storyteller Richard Roxburgh as our newest ambassador.

With a career spanning stage and screen, Richard has long been a household name in the entertainment industry. Now, he’s stepping into a new role—one that will help change the future for sick kids.

For Richard, joining SCHF was a decision driven by a simple but powerful belief: “What more important thing is there in our community than the health of our children, their wellbeing, and the future of that health?”

A cause close to his heart

Reflecting on his decision to become an SCHF ambassador, Richard shared his deep appreciation for the work being done to support sick children. “What that means is research and development. It means facilities. It means education. It means helping in all those ways. And I can’t think of anything that’s more pressing and important.”

As an ambassador, Richard hopes to use his platform to raise awareness and rally support for the essential work SCHF funds across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.

“I’d like to get the word out. I’d like to promote the cause. It’s a world that constantly needs funding—it’s an expensive, complex medical world, but at the heart of it, there are kids. Sick kids. And if I can help bring more support to them, that’s what I want to do.”

A message for those considering donating

Richard has a clear message for anyone thinking about making a difference: “Don’t just consider donating. Do it. Time is short, and life is precious. If you want to help your community, this is an incredibly powerful way to do it.”

He acknowledges the incredible advancements in children’s healthcare over the years, but he also knows there is still much work to be done.

“The changes in children’s health in the last 20 years have been extraordinary. But there’s still so much work to do. And the only way we can do it is if we come together.”

Together, we can change the future for sick kids

Richard's passion for storytelling and advocacy is a powerful addition to SCHF’s mission. His words remind us why we do what we do—for the children whose childhoods are far from what they should be.

With Richard’s support, we can bring discoveries closer, develop treatments faster, and build state-of-the-art facilities sooner—all to help change the future for sick kids.

Join Richard Roxburgh in making a difference.

Donate now and help give sick kids the childhood they deserve.
