Lighting up the faces of sick kids 

Nobody loves Christmas more than kids – the anticipation, the food, and of course, the visit from Santa! This year some kids will be too sick, ill or injured to be where they want to be. Instead, for many of them, the holidays will be spent in a ward, treatment room or outreach centre.

SCHF is currently preparing for our much-anticipated Light Up Xmas Appeal, where we are hoping to raise much needed funds to give children and their families the greatest gift of all – a bright, happy, and healthy child. As the festive season fast approaches, after yet another tough year, we need your help more than ever before to save more young lives today and future- proof the health of all kids tomorrow.

From supporting state-of-the-art clinical care, revolutionary patient experience and world-first research programs – together, we really can give sick kids and their families a reason to celebrate at this special time of year.

We can be a part of the pure elation parents feel when a child’s life is saved because researchers from different disciplines can collaborate on an experimental new treatment breakthrough. They can do this because funding is available for innovative research that is cutting -edge, cross-disciplinary and unconventional.

And we can see the gratitude a family feels when they seek treatment from a multidisciplinary team across different hospitals and services – and experience the same high-standard of care and feel at home wherever they go. We can do this because funding is available to build a hospital that stretches beyond buildings, into homes.
