At Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF), we’re proud to reflect on recent milestones that demonstrate our impact and commitment to changing the future for sick kids. These achievements, made possible by the generosity of our donors, highlight our dedication to excellence and innovation. Here are just a few recent highlights:
Recognition for transformational giving
SCHF was honoured to be named a finalist for the Fundraising Institute of Australia’s (FIA) Best Transformational Gift award. This nomination reflects our efforts to foster impactful partnerships that change lives.

Sharing our success at the Big 4 Conference
In October, Caroline, Director of Trusts & Foundations at SCHF, and Todd, the CEO of Kids with Cancer Foundation, co-presented at the Big 4 Conference, showcasing the $10.5 million transformational gift that will help create a world-class Cancer Centre at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. This partnership underscores the power of collaboration in driving meaningful change.

Launch of the Humpty Dumpty Paediatric Gait Lab
In September, we celebrated the opening of the Humpty Dumpty Paediatric Gait Analysis Laboratory at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. This cutting-edge facility, made possible by the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, is transforming care for children with movement disorders.

Promoting the power of Music Therapy
We teamed up with Don Spencer, founder of the Australian Children’s Music Foundation, to create inspiring videos promoting the benefits of music therapy. This initiative highlights the therapeutic power of creativity in healing.

Advocating for sustainability in the charity sector
In November, our Trusts and Foundations team hosted a meeting of the Trusts and Foundations Working Group, bringing together nearly 40 representatives from charities and not-for-profits. The discussion focused on the groundbreaking “Pay What it Takes” report by the Centre for Social Impact and Social Ventures Australia.
This report challenges the misconception that charities should operate with minimal overheads, revealing the true costs of delivering social change. With insights from Lisa Allan (The Smith Family) and Armine Nalbandian (Centre for Social Impact), the presentation emphasised the importance of funding indirect costs like IT, HR, and impact reporting to ensure charities can thrive.

Looking ahead
As we celebrate these milestones, we remain focused on driving innovation and delivering exceptional care for children and families. Your support makes these achievements possible, and we invite you to join us in changing the future for sick kids.
