Long-time supporters of SCHF, Coogee Bay Hotel, held their 25th Annual Golf Day on 22nd October 2022 and raised a whopping $252,314 for kids’ health, a huge $37,000 more than the previous record. 

Over the last 28 years the Coogee Bay Hotel team, with the help of their valued partners, have raised over $3.6M for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation by hosting their Annual Charity Golf Days and auctions, and this year they’ve continued to demonstrate their commitment with a record-breaking Golf Day.

The road to this year’s event may not have been smooth sailing, with the original Golf Day postponed due to COVID. Instead of cancelling the 2021 event, however, the Coogee Bay Hotel team were incredibly innovative and ambitious and decided to run TWO events in one year to make up for 2021, and the astonishing results speak for themselves.

Not only did Coogee Bay Hotel raise $250,000 on the day, but they also committed to an enormous $1 million over five years for the Parent and Carer rooms in the New Emergency Department at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

This incredible generosity only adds to the long list of new facilities, initiatives, fellowship programs, surgical theatres and more that Coogee Bay Hotel has helped fund since 1994.

In addition to their financial commitment, Coogee Bay Hotel also donates 100 room nights per year for patients and families who have no accommodation in Sydney. We have totalled this Gift in Kind support over the years to be worth over $200,000, but to parents and families of sick and injured kids this support is priceless. Coogee Bay Hotel also became dollar matchers in our 2022 Light up Xmas appeal and doubled donations up to $100K.

Coogee Bay Hotel are celebrating their 150-year anniversary and we look forward to celebrating this amazing milestone with them.
