The Art Program is delighted to present the next rotation of exhibitions in the 2026 exhibition season, with three new displays filling the corridors of Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick from June - August 2026.

On Ground Level, we showcase a selection of Aboriginal artists and family members working across NSW. Each artist works in innovative ways to convey connections to Country, reflecting its importance in health and healing.

Two still prints are displayed from Ben Bjork’s moving image work Tranquillity Window, that invites quiet reflection through shifting colour, rhythm, and luminosity. The video artwork will be on display outside the SCHF office in the new Bilima building from 5pm – 8pm each evening.

From July, on Ground Level we will showcase the winning entries from the Sydney Sick Kids Art competition.

Due to popular demand, the Then and Now documentary photography project will continue to be exhibited, now on Level Two. This documentary photography project captures human moments of hospital life for children, young people, and their families over a fourteen-year period.

We hope you enjoy these exhibitions as much as we do and join us in celebrating the incredible community around us, dedicated to kids’ health and the joy of creativity!

Then and Now - Extended due to popular demand!

Then and Now is a photographic project that captures the human moments of hospital life for children, young people and their families. It tells powerful stories through the lens, and bears witness to care, vulnerability and hope.

“This exhibition is the third instalment of documenting the journeys of a diverse group of children I began photographing in 2012. An entire spectrum of narrative is told. Fleeting hospital encounters that were barely thought of again, traumatic accidents, miracle survivals and medical odysseys that will last a lifetime…together they are a true reflection of the diversity that graces Sydney Children’s Hospital.”

Artwork Tranquility Window

Ben Bjork, Tranquillity Window

Tranquillity Window is a looping light projection that invites quiet reflection through shifting colour, rhythm, and luminosity. Framed as a contemplative threshold, the work explores stillness within motion, offering viewers a momentary pause from external noise and an immersive encounter with calm, perception, and temporal drift.

Tranquillity Window will be displayed on the screen outside the SCHF office in the Bilima building, from 5pm – 8pm nightly. Two printed stills from this work will be on display in the current building.

Karen Linnell, Bindi Bindi Art and Leena Uepa, On Country

On Country presents the work of contemporary Aboriginal artists and family members working across Sydney and NSW. The works share personal connections to family, community, environment and healing. Each artist brings an innovative approach to storytelling in this selection of works, including Karen Linnell, Bindi Bindi Art and Leena Uepa.

“Country is a place of healing. Its presence within these artworks offers a sense of calm, familiarity and belonging, even within clinical spaces. It reminds us of the world beyond these walls and the ongoing connection we carry with us.” – Bindi Bindi Art
