Upcoming: Autumn Art Exhibitions
March - May 2026
The Art Program is delighted to present the first rotation of exhibitions in the 2026 exhibition season, with three new displays filling the corridors of Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick from March - May 2026.
On the ground level, we showcase an art project fourteen years in the making! Then and Now documents some very special patients at three separate intervals, capturing the human moments of hospital life for children, young people and their families.
On level 2 the artwork of Bindi Bindi Art; Ngemba woman Chloe Eastwood and Wiradjuri woman Tay-la Shearley, explores healing in health, spirit, and community. The artist will also join SCHF At Educators to deliver art workshops for patients during the exhibition.
Also on level 2, the work of patients and our community are celebrated through Photo Finish, a digital photography exhibition of the finalists and winners of this annual event.
We hope you enjoy these exhibitions as much as we do and join us in celebrating the incredible community around us, dedicated to kids’ health and the joy of creativity!
Then and Now
Then and Now is a photographic project that captures the human moments of hospital life for children, young people and their families. It tells powerful stories through the lens, and bears witness to care, vulnerability and hope.
“This exhibition is the third instalment of documenting the journeys of a diverse group of children I began photographing in 2012. An entire spectrum of narrative is told. Fleeting hospital encounters that were barely thought of again, traumatic accidents, miracle survivals and medical odysseys that will last a lifetime…together they are a true reflection of the diversity that graces Sydney Children’s Hospital.”

Now in its fifth year, the Photo Finish Digital Photography Competition invited patients, volunteers, visitors, and staff from across Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) to submit uplifting and cheerful photographs taken on a smartphone, to help brighten our hospital walls.
Entries were judged across three categories and two age categories for under 18s.
