Mark Ferguson

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation proudly welcomes one of Australia’s most respected journalists as an official ambassador.

For decades, Mark Ferguson has been a familiar face in lounge rooms across the country. As the 6pm news anchor for 7NEWS Sydney, he’s reported on some of the most defining moments in Australian history. But beyond the headlines, Mark has long been using his voice to champion a cause close to his heart – supporting sick kids.

Today, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) is proud to announce Mark Ferguson as our newest official ambassador.

“It’s an absolute privilege to be asked,” Mark says. “I’ve got no medical or nursing expertise – I’ll leave that to the incredible teams doing a wonderful job. But my role is to spread the word, raise awareness, and hopefully help get those donations flowing in.”

Mark’s connection to SCHF is not new. Over the years, he has generously given his time, hosting major fundraising galas like Gold Dinner and, supporting the Sydney Sick Kids Appeal, visiting hospitals, and connecting with the children and families we support. His deep understanding of the importance of community and his empathy as a father of three make his advocacy all the more powerful.

“All you want is for your children to be healthy and happy. When families are doing it tough, when there are battles like the one young Ollie has fought, it’s inspiring. It makes you want to do something, and I know that through raising awareness, I can help raise funds and that funding changes lives.”

A message to supporters

Mark has a simple message for those considering donating:

“Please give as generously as you can. Every dollar goes such a long way. I know times are tough, but if you’ve got a few spare dollars, please donate.”

Join Mark in changing lives

Mark Ferguson’s support reminds us of the power of community, compassion, and storytelling. By standing with SCHF, he’s helping to amplify the voices of sick kids and their families and rallying support for a brighter, healthier future.

Whether you give a little or a lot, your support has the power to change lives. Your donation helps fund cutting-edge research, purchase vital equipment, and ensure sick and injured kids get the best possible care, when they need it most.
