Ian McGill

Ian is a non-executive director of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network and chairman of the Aboriginal Health Strategic Committee of the board.    Ian has nearly forty years’ experience as a corporate lawyer practising in the technology, media and telecommunications sectors. He retired from the law firm Allens on 30 June 2020 after thirty years as a partner.

Ian is currently a non-executive director of the Sydney Institute of Marine Science, the Public Education Foundation, and an advisory board member of the North Star Van Norton Poche Cancer Clinical Trials Centre and the Centre for Media Transition at the University of Technology Sydney.

He is also a member of the Professional Impact Network at the Social Impact Hub, providing corporate and corporate governance advice in the not for profit and for purpose sector.

He was formerly a non-executive director and Commonwealth nominee on the board of the Australian Children’s Television Foundation, retiring on 25 March 2024.

Ian is a member of the Law Society of NSW and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
