Let's give kids' cancer the boot.

Every child facing cancer deserves care, comfort, and hope-and this Magic Round, the NRL community is uniting like never before to make that happen.

The NRL's Kick for a Cause, held during Magic Round 2026, unites fans, clubs, hospitals, and partners to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer.

Together, we're raising funds for all 11 paediatric cancer centres across Australia and New Zealand -  so that every child facing cancer, no matter where they are, or what they're facing, they feel the full force of what this game can do.

Every kick, every cheer, every dollar brings us closer to lifesaving research, world-class care, and moments of joy for kids and families who need it most.

YOUR IMPACT

Every year, around 1,100 children and teens are diagnosed with cancer in Australia and New Zealand.

Tragically, three young lives are lost each week - more than two full footy teams each school term.

While survival rates have improved to 80%, one in five children still won’t survive. That’s why every kick, every cheer, and every donation counts.

Kick for a Cause will support a network of all specialist children’s cancer centres across Australia and New Zealand, funding research, care, and support for families when they need it most.

BEAU'S STORY

Beau was the kid who never stopped moving – funny, loud, fiercely polite and obsessed with footy. Game days were everything, the lounge room transformed into his own stadium. But in early 2024, his parents, Scott and Belinda, noticed he was losing weight fast. After weeks of unanswered questions, Beau suddenly could not catch his breath. Within hours, he was in hospital, and scans revealed the unthinkable: cancer.

Throughout treatment, Beau held onto two wishes: to ring the bell to mark the end of his cancer treatment. The second was much bigger – he wanted to drive a movement, to help as many kids with cancer as possible. Beau had quietly created a “cure for cancer” page on one of his social channels, calling for donations – something his family only discovered after he passed away.

Even as the cancer progressed, Beau’s spirit never dimmed. He passed away surrounded by family, leaving a legacy of courage, kindness and hope. The inaugural Kick for a Cause honours his fight – helping fund the research and care every child deserves.
