Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) is thrilled to announce that the annual Walk for Kids with Cancer is back in 2023! We’re calling on our Movement of Many to join the fight against childhood cancer on Sunday 26 March 2023

This March, the scenic walk from The Rocks to Manly will expand its support to include both oncology departments across Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) - the Kids Cancer Centre at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick and the Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

General Manager of Engagement, Kate Ferguson says, “SCHF is so excited to embark on this new chapter for this year’s Walk for Kids with Cancer event which is aiming to raise even more vital funds for families and children affected by this devastating disease.

“To date, this much-loved event has raised over $1.6M for the Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and we know that by furthering our impact to reach even more sick kids, we can achieve greater results. No child should ever have to go through cancer but those who do deserve our all.”

From January – June 2022, over 3,000 children received cancer treatment across SCHN, including six-year-old Kyah. You may recognise her cheeky little face as our 2022 patient ambassador. Well now Kyah is back, and her family are ready to continue their fight against childhood cancer by once again participating in 2023

Joining Kyah and our Movement of Many as our 2023 official Presenting Partner is Heartland Motors who are proud to come onboard and support the event for the first time.

CEO of Heartland Motors, Kieran Turner says, "Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation is very important to all of us at Heartland Motors and we’re proud to be going all in for kids’ health, once again.

This year, we’re supporting Walk for Kids with Cancer which is an opportunity to give back to our community. Heartland Motors is family owned and operated business since 1966 and we have always been a big supporter of many different charities. It just feels great to do and be able to help others, especially children."

Funds raised through this year’s Walk for Kids with Cancer will go towards the greatest area of need identified by the departments – whether that’s more groundbreaking research or cutting-edge equipment and positive patient experiences in the hospital.

Registrations for the Walk for Kids with Cancer 2023 are officially open. Register today at walkforkidscancer.org.au to score a Super Early Bird discount and join the fight against this devastating disease.
