Meet Emma

Leaving a gift or "bequest" in a Will leaves a lasting legacy

“One of the key highlights working in those roles was speaking to the supporters – it’s truly inspiring to encounter people who share the same passion and mission, to make a positive difference to people’s lives, especially children.”

Emma Evans has always sought out areas in her life where she can make a difference and has wanted to work in an environment with people who share the same passion. In her new role as Bequest Coordinator at Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, she is doing just that. She is a custodian for those in the community who wish to use their legacy to improve the lives of sick kids, supporting them throughout their journey.

Since February 2017, Emma has gained a wealth of experience working across the Foundation in various fundraising teams including Events and Major Donors. The best aspect for Emma is connecting with the many generous individuals and groups who support the Hospital.

“I assist those interested in exploring the possibility of leaving a bequest gift and help them understand how we handle each and every gift with great care, confidentiality, sensitivity and respect. I also make sure they have an open invitation to visit the Hospital, to see firsthand the impact their gift will make in the future.”

Now in her new role, Emma enjoys making that same connection with people who are considering leaving a gift in their Will.

“Hearing their stories and reasons for giving has shown me that leaving a gift in your Will is one of the greatest commitments you can make to help sick kids and their families for generations to come.”

Emma understands that leaving a gift in your Will is one of the greatest commitments that you can make to help sick kids and their families.

Bequests are one of the most valued gifts to the Foundation. Whether large or small, they play a vital role in helping the Hospital stay at the forefront of leading edge treatment and research, providing a better future for seriously ill children, and truly make a lasting difference.

“Leaving a legacy is a new beginning. It’s the beginning of one act of kindness making a longlasting and positive impact to countless lives, well into the future.”
