Sydney Sick Kids Appeal lights up dark time for sick kids

23 August 2021

On Monday 17 May, 2021 Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) launched its first-ever Sydney Sick Kids Appeal, urging NSW to dig deep for sick kids across the state requiring care from Sydney’s network of world-leading children’s hospitals and paediatric services.

Thanks to supporters like you, we raised an extraordinary $6 million for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, Bear Cottage, NETS and Kids Research.

The Sydney Sick Kids Appeal is one of the SCHF’s biggest, and most vital fundraising initiatives of the year, celebrating the positive difference we can make to the lives of sick and injured children, who need the community now more than ever.

Culminating with Sydney Sick Kids Day on Thursday 24 June, and despite the challenges imposed by the evolving COVID-19 situation, you helped put smiles on the faces of patients and hospital staff.

Our 7News ambassador, Mark Ferguson, began the day on Sunrise and The Morning Show encouraging viewers to help light up dark times for sick kids. The astounding results speak for themselves and will go down in SCHF history.

Our incredible patient ambassadors, siblings, Jacob and Riley, did an amazing job fundraising for the appeal, raising an incredible $66,000 which went above and beyond their own target.

Our heartfelt thanks to all our generous corporate partners and supporters who helped brighten the lives of sick and injured kids during such uncertain times.
