Saving lives on and off the beach

14 February 2019

Lifeguards from Waverley, Randwick and Sutherland Shire Councils are putting their fitness to the test when they take on the 30km Lifeguard Challenge in support of Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.

In a 'battle of the beaches', the lifeguards will be running, swimmng and rescue board paddling from Bondi to Cronulla on Sunday 17 March to raise lifesaving medical equipment.

The team are aiming to raise $19,000 to help fund an EEG Monitor urgently needed by Hospital's Neurology Team. The monitor will assess seizures in children by detecting changes in brain wave patterns. It can also assist with diagnosing neurological conditions such as seizure disorders or epilepsy.
