One of the largest and most trusted kids' health charities in the country, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation raises funds to help provide all children with access to the best possible healthcare, whenever and wherever they need it.
We’ve been delivering on this promise since 1986, raising millions every year for a collective of two major children’s hospitals, specialised care services and cutting edge paediatric research operating across NSW.
A conduit, an enabler and a mechanism for powerful change, we make sure that funds raised go directly to the front line of children’s health care - from the hospitals wards to the treatment rooms, the research labs to the outreach programs.
We truly believe there is no possible greater impact for a donated dollar in kids’ health.
We are an independent health promotion charity, registered with the Australian Taxation Office as an Item 1 Deductible Gift Recipient.
We are a company limited by guarantee, registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

At SCHF we believe in going all in for kids’ health.
Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation exists to promote charitable investment in the prevention and management of childhood illness, with a focus on kids and families receiving treatment or care in services provided by Sydney Children's Hospitals Network.
Nowhere else can you make one donation and help different kids of all ages, all illnesses and all conditions. Your donations can help us harness the power of collective giving to fund the highest and most urgent priorities to have the greatest impact on children’s health, now and in the future.
At the same time, we also recognise that some people have a personal connection to a specific cause, entity or service and you can continue to provide support directly to the area you care about by indicating your preference when donating.
The Kids Research Institute is the research division of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. With over 600 researchers, support staff and students, Kids Research is dedicated to discovering new ways to improve the health of children. It leads research into a wide range of childhood diseases, resulting in significant advances in the treatment of cancer, obesity, kidney, heart and respiratory illnesses, diabetes and muscular dystrophy.
Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick is a world-leading hospital providing provides a complex and comprehensive range of services across paediatric and adolescent medicine and surgery, caring for more than 74,777 critically ill and injured children each year. The hospital treats children with a multitude of conditions, including cancer, trauma, HIV/AIDS, congenital abnormalities, disabilities, heart disease and respiratory disorders.
Bear Cottage is the only children’s hospice in NSW providing respite and end of life care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. It is one of only three such hospices in Australia, and the only one in the world affiliated with a children’s hospital.
The Children’s Hospital at Westmead cares for more than 99,164 children every year. As the largest paediatric centre in NSW, the Hospital provides world-class care to children from NSW, Australia and across the Pacific Rim. It is home to the NSW Paediatric Burns Unit, the Paediatric Liver Transplant Unit, the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance, the NSW Newborn Screening Service and National Poisons Information Centre, as well as the first Paediatric Tumour Bank in the southern hemisphere.
Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, The Newborn and paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS) is a statewide service providing expert clinical advice, clinical coordination, emergency treatment and stabilisation and inter-hospital transport for very sick babies and children up to the age of 16 years. It is the only service of its kind in Australia.
What we fund
As part of our commitment to going all in for kids’ health, money raised by the Foundation goes to a wide range of different services and facilities across research and care.
From paying for new equipment, training and education to funding groundbreaking research or the building of new state-of-the-art facilities, this holistic approach makes a positive impact right across the board, raising the standard of paediatric care as a whole.
Current paediatric health funding does not extend to cover the costs needed to reach the level of excellence these kids deserve, nor does it allow for the kind of groundbreaking research needed to make new discoveries and advancements in paediatric health.
Without the push to do more to address this gap, the inequity in Australian kid’s healthcare will deepen. Advancement will grind to a halt and innovations will come too late for those that need them.
