| 22 October - 19 December 2008 | "Walking Together" workshops and exhibition by Darren Bloomfield | Sydney Children's Hospital Artspace 1, High St, Randwick | Emerging aboriginal artist Darren Bloomfield paints shoes as part of his walk through life and as a reflection of aboriginal people walking the land in Australia for thousands of years. A series of workshops with the Hospital School students and two partner schools will end in an exhibition of thongs painted by the children, telling of their own "dreaming". "Walking Together" will open on 22 October – International Children’s Day. |
| 6 December 2008 | Coogee Family Fun Day | Coogee Beach | Coogee Family Fun Day is an annual event organised by the Coogee Chamber of Commerce being held for the 14th time in 2008. Thousands of people flock to Coogee Beach for a family day to enjoy the many stalls, rides and entertainment for the kids. |
| 19 December 2008 - 30 January 2009 | "Holiday" by Joel Dickens | Sydney Children's Hospital Artspace 0, High St, Randwick | JJoel Dickens is a painter with a signature child-like style (his work is always inspired by children’s drawings). This exhibition was inspired by art created by children working with the Hospital’s play therapists. Joel explores the idea of holiday as a link between his own experiences and the Hospital’s patients. |
| 19 December 2008 - 30 January 2009 | "Sea-sational!!" Marine photography of Randwick's coast | Sydney Children's Hospital Artspace 0, High St, Randwick | Many of the Sydney Children’s Hospital’s brave patients come from regional and rural NSW and may have never seen Sydney’s spectacular coast. This exhibition aims to bring the local seascape and marine life into the Hospital and the lives of the Hospital’s sick children. A selection of the country’s leading marine photographers have generously donated 10 images of marine life and seascapes taken just off Randwick’s coast. |
