Every raffle ticket you buy helps kids like Hugo, pictured. When Hugo was a baby, doctors found five separate tumours – each the size of a large peach - throughout his tiny body. Hugo underwent regular rounds of chemotherapy to combat the aggressive cancerous tumours. “Hugo lost all of his hair, but was otherwise in really high spirits and very resilient,” said his mum, Jane. Once he was big and strong enough, Hugo underwent a grueling nine hour operation, which successfully removed 95% of the remaining tumours. Earlier this year, however, a routine checkup showed that the tumours were slightly larger than before. Hugo continues to see a number of specialists at the Hospital to monitor and treat the slow growth.
