Research represents a major investment in the future of our children and a vital part of Sydney Children's Hospital's commitment to child health. Research Grants are awarded annually to staff at Sydney Children's Hospital with senior members of the Hospital Research Committee determining eligibility.
The main review process for grants is conducted by the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation's Research Advisory Committee, an independent external committee comprising eminent professors and paediatric specialists within the community.
The Research Advisory Committee recommends to the Foundation Board the research projects to be supported each year and the amount required to enable the research to be undertaken.
The Leslie Stevens Fund for Newborn Care is administered by Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation and was established in 2003 to make an important contribution to research and clinical care in the field of Neonatology at the Sydney Children's Hospital and Royal Hospital for Women.
The Fund was established by the Stevens family to recognise the life-long contribution to paediatrics of the late Professor Leslie Stevens and to make an important contribution to Neonatology. An Advisory Committee evaluates submissions for funding.
