SPECIAL EVENTS

Special Events are a key aspect of fundraising for the Hospital. The Special Events Team works closely with committees to manage the production and over-all success of the Foundation's annual events including The Gold Dinner, Silver Party, An Amber Affair and Trees for Children .

Holding your own event to raise money for the Hospital is fun and rewarding. Whether you organise your event through your company, colleagues, friends, the community, school or club you can help raise funds for the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and have fun at the same time.

Registration process

1. Contact the Special Events team at Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation.

2. Submit a written proposal outlining the details of your fundraising event:

• type of event
• date
• venue
• how the funds will be raised
• type of event
• whether or not funds raised will be specified to a particular area of the Hospital

3. The Special Events team will then issue you with an Authorisation to Fundraise which will need to be signed by the event organiser and returned by fax or email.

4. Form a planning committee to work together on the event.

5. Publicise and promote the event.

• The Communications team at the Foundation may be able to assist with this.

6. Hold the event

• The Special Events team may be able to provide you with signage, tins/buckets for donations, volunteers and guest speakers.

7. Collect the funds

• All funds are to be forwarded to the Foundation within 90 days after your event. Please allow four weeks from that date for tax receipts for any donations to your event to be issued.

8. Cheque Presentation and Hospital Tour

• After your event, there might be an opportunity for you and your planning committee to have a cheque presentation and Hospital tour.

Community Groups and Individuals

• Local fun day or fair
• Community garage sale
• Trivia night
• Gala dinner or lunch

• Craft sale
• Sausage sizzle
• Art exhibition
• Fun run
