Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation - Our Hospital

Our Hospital

Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick cares for more than 61,500 sick and injured children every year. Not just in our Emergency Department and Hospital Wards, but also through our Outreach and Outpatients services.

Every day, anxious parents entrust our expert medical teams with the most important thing in their world - their child. No-one takes this trust lightly. Our doctors, nurses and allied health professionals treat every child as they would their own, and our aim is to give every child perfect care every time.

The impact of our Hospital goes beyond just Sydney - in fact 74% of the children we treat are from outside the Hospital's local area and 50% come from rural and regional NSW. More than 100 children come through our Emergency Department every day, more than 500 children undergo surgery every month and at any one time there are 400 patients on cancer treatment at the Hospital.

The Foundation plays a vital role in ensuring our dedicated medical teams have the cutting-edge medical equipment and high-tech surgical tools they need to care for children of all ages - from newborns to toddlers to teenagers. We also raise funds to support researchers pushing the frontiers of medicine, clinical trials that help to improve cure rates and Fellowships for our brightest and best clinicians. We proudly fund an innovative Art Program which uses the visual arts as a healing tool and helps to create a welcoming, positive and reassuring environment for children and their families.
