We are honoured to have the leadership of some of Australia’s finest talent from health, corporate, media and non-profit arenas. Our board members are:
Jack Ford (Chair)
Jack Ford is a media consultant and company director. He is Deputy Chair of Audio Visual Copyright Society Limited (Screenrights) and Director of Ignite Media Brands Pty Limited. He was previously a Partner of Blake Dawson and Managing Director of Sony Pictures Television Pty Limited. Jack has been a practising lawyer for over 30 years.
Skye Leckie (Deputy Chair)
Skye Leckie has had a career in public relations and marketing spanning more than 20 years, working primarily for a national retail chain and now operates her own public relations consulting firm Skye Macleod Enterprises. Skye has been on the highly successful Gold Dinner Committee for 14 years, and has been chairwoman of the Committee for three years.
Chris Jordan AO (Treasurer)
Chris Jordan is KPMG NSW’s Chairman of Partners, and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Taxation. Chris is also a Board Member of the Bell Shakespeare Company, a member of the Audit & Risk Committee of the Art Gallery of NSW, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Simon Hickey
Simon Hickey has been the Chief Executive of Qantas Frequent Flyer since 2007 and was previously the Head of Group Strategy after joining Qantas Airways in 2004. Mr Hickey was formerly Chief Financial Officer for Lend Lease Americas and has held various other roles within Lend Lease. Mr Hickey began his career as a business consultant with Arthur Andersen and is currently a director of Air Pacific Limited.
Duncan Makeig
Duncan Makeig is the Director of Sustainability and General Counsel of Lion Nathan National Foods Pty Limited. He is the Lion representative Director on the Board of Bevchain (Linfox joint venture) and Chairman of Heineken Lion. Duncan has been practising law in Australia, New Zealand and the USA for over 25 years.
Justin Milne
Justin Milne has had a distinguished career in the internet and media arenas. He is the former CEO of The Microsoft Network, OzEmail and BigPond. He also ran Telstra’s media businesses in Australia and China. He is a board member of Basketball Australia, an Advisory Council Member of the Sydney Children's Hospital Network (Westmead and Randwick), and is a past board member of the SA Economic Development Board and a past President of the Internet Industry Association.
Kathy Shand
Kathy Shand is the former Publisher of the Australian Jewish News and has been involved in media and publishing for over 20 years. She is a past Board Member of the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation and the Steering Committee of the RPA Foundation, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Since completing her Masters of International Relations she has been working at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney.
Professor Les White AM DSc
Les White was appointed as the inaugural NSW Chief Paediatrician in September 2010. He was Executive Director of Sydney Children's Hospital (1995-2010), President of Children's Hospitals Australasia (1999-2004), Convenor of the Greater Eastern and Southern NSW Child Health Network (2001-2010) and the John Beveridge Professor of Paediatrics (2005-2010). He was awarded a Doctorate of Science for research contributions related to childhood cancer and holds a Master of Health Administration. In 2007, he received an Order of Australia award for service to medicine, medical administration and the community in the field of paediatrics.
Elizabeth Koff
Elizabeth Koff was appointed Chief Executive of Sydney Children’s Hospital Network in 2010. Elizabeth gained 13 years clinical and management experience in a number of teaching hospitals in NSW and Victoria before completing a Master of Public Health. Prior to her current role, Elizabeth held a number of planning and service development positions including Director of Health Service Development for South Eastern Sydney Area Health Service, Director of Population Health Planning and Performance and Director of Clinical Operations for SESIAHS.
Dr Matthew O’Meara
Dr Matthew O’Meara is a paediatric emergency physician and is the Director of Emergency at Sydney Children’s Hospital. He began his paediatric training at the Hospital in 1989 and was appointed staff specialist in 1995. He has been an advocate for the emergency care of children through roles in the Greater Eastern and Southern NSW Child Health Network, NSW Ministerial Taskforce on Emergency Care and Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
